In late April, after 60 years of operation, the owners of Dippikill voted to stop funding it / essentially closing it down. While it is possible that ultimately it may be resurrected (months from now/next year), it meant that camp could no longer be held there this summer; an unfortunate circumstance far beyond our control.
Dippikill has been the home to Trail Running Camp since its beginning in 2008.
We immediately pivoted, reaching out to numerous places to move camp. We visited different facilities and dove deeply into searching for an alternate camp location.
In short, there simply was not a viable option that provided all of the essential components that have made camp such the wondrous experience it has been every year.
To that end, and it genuinely saddens me on numerous levels to write this: camp will not happen this summer.
All registered campers will receive a 100% refund..
As an aside (for those who may be curious) we are still hoping to host the Froggy Five / Hard as Hell 13.1 - and are currently scouting locations for that.
Whether you were a returning camper or about to join us for the first time, it has always been a privilege to have your trust in us to provide you with a memorable and unique experience.
Fondly,
Josh Merlis & the AREEP Team
